Trade School was an alternative, self organised school that runs on barter. They were a great way for anyone to share knowledge and learn new skills.

Everyone was welcome to join a Trade School session, all you needed to do is bring a simple item along that has been requested by the informal teacher, in exchange for learning something new.

The barter items could be anything from an affordable small item such as a pen or simple stationary item or your favourite joke or poem, or even just a smile! A Trade School can be hosted by anyone who has something they want to share with others. Everyone was invited to teach something they were interested in or skilled at – experiences, practical skills and big ideas were all valued equally.
