Practical resources for participation

When the Every One Every Day project closed its doors in December 2023, it concluded a legacy strategy which aimed to create the conditions for residents and groups to continue to create practical participation projects into the future.

This was through two principal means:

  • Rehousing practical making equipment and machinery to new homes in the borough and ensuring that these remained accessible to residents

  • Producing easy-to-use how-to guides and manuals on a range of participation approaches, machines and making processes.

Use this section to:

  • Find your way to participation opportunities still being creating in Barking and Dagenham

  • Access a host of useful information to help you create your own projects and activities with your neighbours

  • Learn how to use tools, machinery and equipment freely available to you across the borough.

“Since coming here, every I’ve had they are like ‘try it out’. I haven’t heard anybody say ‘you can’t do that’! It helps me believe I can try everything”- Participant

“I think it is showing me that when you’ve got the right support and you’re focussed, a lot can happen in six months… And how quickly and lifechanging some things can be. I’ve done so much in the past six months, it’s unbelievable” - Participant
