Leaf Bank

A community compost for organic matter

Leaf bank was a community compost heap for organic matter, designed as a place for local residents to dispose of garden leaves. It was a simple structure using large wooden stakes and chicken wire that was set up in a public space and accessible for all. The first Leaf Bank was established by local residents who were involved in greening projects. It has since been used for The Allotment Project and was part of an essential building block to facilitate participation for outdoor gardening-based projects.
