Share & Mend

A community clothes exchange!

Share & Mend was a community clothes exchange, where everyone could swap the clothes they wear less often for something fresh for the next season. It was also a space to repair, hack and personalise to bring new life to old garments.

The project wasdeveloped through co-design with local resident Coby. With decades of experience in making her own clothes, she was passionate about reducing textile waste and sharing her knowledge on how clothes can be made, cared for and repaired. For the first Share & Mend session residents were invited to bring items to swap with others, to learn basic repair skills through mini tutorials and to modify or repair items with the available sewing machines.
